Lanzarote 2023

 My three favourite things from Lanzarote 2023 the turtle rescue, The albino lobsters and the surreal nature of  Jameos del agua, and how it reminded me of Salvador Dalí.

As a student in 1991 I had a poster of a Salvador Dalí painting on the wall of my study bedroom.

I was at Salford University reading biochemistry and I had very few belongings. I have no computer, I have no music making, recording or streaming device, I had no television, I had no fiction books. I often wished the university library held some reading books, but they didn’t. I had no phone. I had some posters on my wall. one was the seeing-eye poster where you go cross eyed at it until you see the image. my images was of Dolphins. And I had the Salvador Dalí poster which was of elephants and reflections.

Last weeks holiday in Lanzarote was our 3rd or 4th visit, so I mostly wanted to see parts that I’d missed before, as well as a few favourites. 

So we visited the Caldero of a volcano that had erupted in the 1700s. We visited the lava tube at Jameos del agua, and we went to the aquarium at Costa telguise. As well as the location of a doctor who episode at orzola  jetty.
