What’s spare time were you thinking of?

“Well, any spare time that you have. You can do this work in 10 hours a week”

I get up at 5 am to go to my first job of the morning which is a cleaning job. I clean toilets and offices and then I go home, Get my child ready for school. when my child goes to school then I do my normal full-time job 9-to-5. Then I make my way to sell kitchens six till 10. I’m home at 11 and I get up again at five.

“Well, what do you do on Saturdays and Sundays?”

I sell kitchens on Saturdays and Sunday. All day Saturday and mornings on Sunday.

Then Sunday afternoons I clean the house and do the laundry and get the shopping in as I have to make sure my child has lunches and uniforms for the week.

My child also has a disability so I have to make 4 routine hospital appointments every year, an annual diabetes eye screening and extra vaccinations as he is immune compromised. That is on top of normal doctors, dentist and optician appointments and any emergency doctors and hospital stays.

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t have known your situation “

You’re stopping people in the street! most people are going to be like me. everyone has home responsibilities and jobs, they could have young children and terminally ill parents
