A tree is better recognised by its fruits than by its roots

 Your legacy will have nothing to do with your background where you’re from. If you were to look at a tree and you could see only its roots you would not know what kind of tree it is. If you look at the fruit of a tree and you can see apples hanging from that tree then you know that you are looking at an apple tree.

Appletree roots would not tell you what kind of tree it is.

What we do in our lives what we become is what we will be recognised as.

Unique don’t be recognised as that little girl from a poor family you’ll be recognised as a professional woman. Your legacy will be the things you participate in the things you contribute to your achievements and your accolades. These are the things that will make you proud.

Membership of a professional institution, such as the institution i3 will give you professional recognition by working towards the professional grade of membership, and then of becoming a charted engineer, you’ll be recognised as a professional.

You participate in professional life

You will work with your peers who are also professional members of institutions such as M3. There will be other engineers who are members of other professional institutions. There will be members of the institution of civil engineers members of the institution of chemical engineers members of the institution of mechanical engineers you will be there, pier your chartered engineers You are a professional 

You take part in awards dinners, conferences exhibitions you will write articles leadership pieces you’ll be sorted out for your thoughts your opinions you are a professional engineer and you are recognised as such.

This will give you a career or just a job, but a career you will take an interest in the subject that you are learned in.

And this will make you proud.

This will be your legacy and in these things you will be remembered and your children will have something to look up to and anyone you want to make proud of. You will be proud of you, but most of all you of course will be proud of yourself.

One thing to remember, is that the best revenge you can have is to live a fruitful life to be successful to be recognised as a professional to be recognised as brilliant to receive an award to be given an accolade to have your name in lights to be on the stage to be asked, present to be the guest of honour to speak con in front of hundreds of people who have come to hear you speak speak .

In 1989, I saw a girl who grew up in a grocer shop in Grantham a girl who went to the local grammar school. And is frankly the thing of dreams. She not only had the most important job in the UK government government, my country, the most important job in the government of my country, but she had been asked to speak to a collection of world leaders they gathered to hear her speak at the UN conference in New York .

What child growing up in Grantham attending the local grammar School could even imagine the one day, the leaders of the world would sit and listen to you. They would gather it was the great cities of the world, and you would be asked you to speak for them to give your opinion to tell them what you think. 

It is not only the best revenge for a traumatic or abusive past, but also the best way to say up yours so anyone who ever doubted you truly make good and consolidate. Your brilliance.
