Research

I was a research scientist working in a field.

In my field, I had a pilot treatment plant.

The job of the water treatment plant was to remove nitrate from water.

With a standard nitrate treatment plant you get fresh clean drinking water at one end and a waist stream out of the other.

The stream contains all of that nitrate that you’ve removed and a lot of salt. The salt is used as part of the process to remove the nitrate from the water to drinking water.

I ran out of salt. Laboratory grade sodium chloride.

My field was in the middle of nowhere. It was all the road which had no name. Identified the correct road to pull into each day by sign on the road that said mud on road. That’s the closest to my head for the road. So remote was my field that.

So I travelled into the nearest town, Which posted a small supermarket. And I bought all of the table salts in the market.
