STAR CONFLICT
Situation
Having completed a very thorough test of predictive maintenance for pumping stations. I had printed the analysis written the model tested it on historic data and then tested it alongside the current method so there was no disruption to what were currently doing but I was able to observe the results would’ve been out to small stations to stations and finally rolling out Pumping stations
Task
That last I needed to complete the role this time to make business as usual it would be implemented and taken on. Those maintenance manages that have been involved tonight or on board where the conflict was was the remaining maintenance man is and naturally their concerns for defending the area saying that they just want to continue doing things as . The teams in particular don’t want to change the way that they currently do things they just want to continue doing what they always do. But the business needed proficiency.
Action
First I engaged Senior management. Then I held a series of meetings with maintenance manages by travelling around the region. And then I held a series of rollout with teams so the guys themselves. And for me the key was having the regional maintenance manager who was Cliff Mariner in to join me at the top of these meetings for 10 minutes to talk to the guys at the top of the meet to say I’m your regional maintenance manager and I support this change.
The main actions were been thoroughly prepared having a really good product rollout that I know for certain was going to work well and be good for the business. Engaging management influencing skills and providing them with the evidence they needed to deliver solution to the need that hand which in this case was they needed more efficient maintenance of their pumping stations. Service with your breakdown customer service.
And engaging at all levels so maintenance managers and EE teams all of them present a great deal of conflict and not enough individuals in meetings travel to their site and I speak to them. I would travel to bases were based and I would also travel to sit in the field.
Result
The result was implementation in the team so again I would sit with you for the scheduler for the pumping stations at the Lincoln office. And I would sit with him and myself with the data scientist in the algorithm integrate and written those who need to integrate so that’s why there was a data scientist and learn from learning to improve as well with the efficiencies needed. To push forward flow to trip works it’s not coming forward and backwards as it will return valve only more capacity because we aren’t still holding on that will reduce the amount of storage needed to prevent this factory and it will prevent sewage flooding in homes.
