Life inspiration
Thinking about what I’ve been doing in the last six months while I’m off work
I’ve achieved CEFR level A2 in French
I earned a certification in trauma informed coaching
I completed Code Institute’s 5 day coding challenge
I built a website
I learned to create content with short videos and with stories to tell the story of the data
I’ve have me termed an engineer for stage 2 chartership with ICHEME
The trauma coaching course built on my qualification as a mental health first aider. I was a qualified and appointed mental health first aid in my last position at Tunley
Before that, I was a mental health champion. I was trained as a mental health champion by furloughteers during the pandemic.
So adding trauma coaching Seen a natural further step But I think it’s also driven by my training as a witness support volunteer at Manchester Crown Court. Here I was trained by victims support and the Greater Manchester police to support victims of crime giving their evidence in court. These were mostly rape victims, One has been the victim of a machete attack and there was one murder but course in murder cases the victim he’s no longer available to be supported, Though there are other witnesses who have been through a traumatic event in that case, it was a murder in a busy pub.
My interesting psychology probably goes back to my mum taking a open university course for which one of her elements was psychology. She been a year study psychology part time towards her university degree One of her modules.. And I was awarded a place studying psychology at Plymouth University that’s my insurance offer when I first applied to university. I didn’t take up my insurance offer but went off to Salford to study physics originally as I felt I want to take Demic degree and I’ve had psychologies my back up just didn’t feel it was as serious as a degree as a science. So I’ve always had interest and I had read the textbooks for the first years psychology as they had been recommended to me by the university and I have an interesting in reading.
So I found myself doing some pro Bono work for a wizardtech AI start-up that was building mental health technology so I was writing some copy for them for their marketing and creating some content. I’m interested in and something I was a skill I was interested in developing.
