 On south Witham primary School. My child attended the school for seven years from four until 11. In that time, the Ofsted rating went from ‘good and improving’ to failing and failed, then became an academy. That year didn’t sit SATS because of Covid, But my child got 90% in the mock SATS, aced The 11+ and got a place in the grammar school. I don’t think anyone can ask anything more of a school than for them to pass to ace their final tests and get into a secondary school of their choice that matches their potential. More importantly The children formed local friendship groups Which have now lasted 11 years and seem likely to last into adulthood. A local school allowed us to walk to the school together, There was an after-school club and we were able to walk back from the school together . As they got older, they were able to learn independence by walking more and more to and from the school by themselves. So that by the time they are 11, they can make the journey independently. An...

  Diversity takes many forms. Beyond race, ethnicity and religion, Sexuality and disability. There are hidden disabilities as neuro divergent and there is culture. When I first started work from university, it was assumed that I was able to drive and had a car. It was an assumed that I knew what a holiday was. It was assumed that I expect to take a week off at Christmas. It was assumed that I expect not to work weekends.  If these assumptions are to be made about employees, I have a freshly recruited or ongoing or at interview, Then they need to be stated explicitly rather than assumptions made.
