We’re looking for a new Senior Campaigning Copywriter to join our Copywriting team.This position takes a lead role in campaigning communications, using the power of language to drive change and mobilise people to take action. You’ll be responsible for our fortnightly email newsletter for campaigning supporters, called Action for Nature. You’ll be politically engaged, follow the news agenda, and be able to respond to emerging situations.Working to the RSPB brand guidelines, you will be responsible for ensuring the RSPB's tone of voice, house style and overall brand expression are consistently reflected across the RSPB channel mix - and particularly in our campaigning voice.You will be an advocate for the section, championing the RSPB’s brand, tone of voice, values and processes with internal and external stakeholders. Essential skills, knowledge and experienceSkills to harness language to drive change and mobilise people to act.Ability to distil very complex policy issues into digestible and engaging copy across a range of platforms.Ability to write engaging copy for a range of audiences, from existing members and potential supporters to politicians and land managers.Flexibility to be able to react to emerging situations and take a long-term strategic view.An excellent understanding and knowledge of communications channels and how best to write for each including: print, web, social media, email, digital media and film (scripts and storyboarding).You will be comfortable stepping above/outside of your own discipline and taking a shared responsibility for the quality and timeliness of multi-channel communications delivery.Confidence to influence peers and colleagues, take a decisive approach, and reconcile conflicting feedback from colleagues to formulate and present creative rationale to achieve buy-in from colleagues.Excellent editorial skills and attention to details to ensure content and communications assets are delivered accurately ready for publication.
